Patience

I may fancy myself a writer
But when it comes to
Plot, conflict, dialogue, and
Third person narratives
I just don't have the
Patience

Author notes

I always have this incredible urge to write a story, but it doesn't come naturally like poetry does.

...?

I plan to revise this poem: please leave constructive criticism!

I know exactly what you mean. I've started a dozen stories, but the only thing I can every seem to finish is a poem (it's one of the reasons I like poetry. I can focus on one idea for a short time, and then move on to the next "new and exciting" idea.)

  • If the "poem" ("" just 'couse I don't know how to label it correctly) tries to touch other poets in sharing a concern with you, you have succeeded.

Writing stories do take a longer time than poetry.
the main suggestion on your problem (which I also have, by the way) is to try and start writing SHORT stories, such as one page or two pages long, so you can get used to the fluency that writing stories require.

This is very concise and to the point. I like it, it says everything it needs to say. I can definitely relate as well, as I'm sure many others can. Great write, I'd love to read more of your work.

  • I loved this short and sweet write... poetry says so much...

    Keep penning dear poet...

    Same with me

I wish to draw or paint but can't find the patience.
