I watch you from afar
I marvel at your grace and pride
And how gorgeous you are
White Wolf, White Wolf
With snowflakes in your hair
I see the way you cry alone
And sob into the air
Dear Wolf, Dear wolf
Your tears are cold and true
Your amber eyes can piece my soul
For I am just like you
Dear One, Dear One
Do not run to another
Our lives differ but our hearts are kindred
For you are my brother…
Author notes
I've had the idea for this poem for a while. I wrote this early this morning and I am pleased witht he way it turned out. I've had a spell of writer's block recently but I wrote this anyway. I hope you enjoy it!
The poem venerates natural beauty but also recognizes a sadness that dwells within.
This poem was written at 12:28AM on 10/19/09

Lovely poem
Like the idea of the poem, and the way it is written is also good. I wrote a similar poem involving a wolf as well only it was a black wolf if you want to check it out.

The concept of this is great and I love the conclusion. I feel it could use some refinement though. The rhythm could be smoother. You should try to apply some meter to this one.

Very nice. It reads like it is captioning the animal planet showing.
It has a good form for the subject matter. I would tweak it a little
so that the rhyme words do not read 'forced'.
Otherwise, a good piece. Your early morning muse worked! Thank you! -

I love that part, that was my favorite because it shows how we relate to the wild. I love this whole poem completely! I love the ryme and flow. This is awesome, especially for someone with writters block

Enjoyed this.Somehow the wolf seems to symbolize nature, freedom and a wild kind of beauty.I have a fascination not just for these animals but the emotions and what they seem to symbolise(hence my poem the wolf). This is a beautiful poem and I enjoyed reading it.Montey

I really like how you did this.

Nice write.... good imagery... reminds me of White Fang by Jack London how sorrowful and rough the wolf dog's life had been... Been a long time since I read that story... Makes me think also of the Native Americans who thought they were brothers to various animals...
