When I was a child
I feared the things I saw
The pieces of my life
A puzzle a disassembled jigsaw
I grew to know the Lord
His precious hand reached out
He touched my life, my heart, my soul
And it was then that I found out
The pieces of this jigsaw
From the puzzle of which I spake
Came to fit together
And taught me God's will and grace
Older now,
My faith is weak with atrophy
I question our very existence
I need again to hear His harmony
I need to feel his presence
A common way for which I've gone
These pieces between my fingers
This path from which I come
Older even still,
And here is where I sit
Pondering before this massive puzzle
But the pieces no longer seem to fit
Forever shall I wonder
with these scattered pieces I must hold
Or can I be delivered
Or will I only keep growing old
God's will must be done
For this is what I should've known
But she is more than just a loved one
She will soon be going home
And now I see
God's gift of life was the missing piece
He gave of Himself
He gave Eternity
So complete is my puzzle
And gone is my fear
And no longer need I struggle
Because all along He was always here
