I look at you
You look at me
I feel something
That could never be
Why can't I
Just look at you
And see the friend
You can only be
You've got that smile
You've got that laugh
You've got a heart
That stops me where I stand
But you and me
Could never be
Destined to be
Forever apart
Say you'll leave
To be with me
Still it's best
To break my heart
When I wake
I think of you
Do thoughts of me
Torment you?
It's like a cancer
That always grows
Stopping the blood
So it never flows
You've got that smile
You've got that laugh
You've got those eyes
That freeze me where I stand
But you and me
Could never be
Destined to be
Forever apart
Say you'll leave
To be with me
Still it's best
To break my heart
What did you think

Ah, loving someone who's just not that into you. Makes for good poetry sometimes doesn't it? Plus it's easier to love what you just can't have for some reason isn't it? Maybe detached love is the answer? Like the saints. . .dare I compare. . .but love isn't about getting so much anyway. .. love and let go...can't that be really beautiful. . .although excruciatingly painful too. . .but what is pain. . .it's just a feeling, not that important right?! And you never know by loving and letting go it may come back on it's own (love) which is the only way you would want it anyway right?! Or maybe letting go will leave room for something bigger and better to come along . . .leaving your heart tenderized to love better?

Yeah it's rough, and the reason she's "just not that into me" is because she's got a boyfriend. A great guy almost done with the first half of his mission trip overseas. This Christmas will mark one year of two he'll be gone. But she is truly and amazing girl...
