“The Day Cluster soldiers did battle “

Missing image

Long ago back in the cluster days.

A young maiden name

Wind speaks in Sunrise

She had to foreseen the upcoming battle of her families of her tribes.

day came when the villages had to seek a place to hide.

The day would bring many fallen soldiers and warriors.

The soldier reins in and started killing our young children and pregnant mothers

.Old warriors and women’s were slaughters.

Where is our Manitou when we needed him?

Manitou told

Wind speaks in Sunrise

This is the way to show the white man how we fight.

Freedom for our people, Food and clothing

Never waste anything gives thanks to him.

Why this?

Does this make the white man big?

Do they feel like men’s or coward for killing small children’s and old ones?

All we did was live on our lands.

Give thanks to mother earth and father sun.

Give praises for the four seasons.

Manitou Oh  Manitou

 What has happens here?

We bow our head for we are no more.

Our families slaughter like cattle’s,

No children to keep the way of life going.

What are we to do?

Wind speaks in sunrise feel like she let her people down.

Oh Great Spirit helps me

I cry!

I gather up what I can

Villages ready with what families is left.

We will travel many miles to find the place

where no one will bother us again.

Winds speaks in Sunrise is in mourning for she lost all her families and friends.

Speak my sister sparrow Hawk that flies,

Tell the Vultures to eat the soldier and leave the village alone.

Sister of my soul,

I ask if you will show me the way to the life of the spirit and welfare of our villages.

Now we will begin to prepare ourselves to start all over again.

Winds speaks in Sunrise will rule the tribes & try to bring the way of life again.

Pray my people for we will find peace after “The Day Clusters soldiers did battle.”

This is the ways of how my grandmother of my Native life told me about her grandmother and great grandmother told the childrens of my poeple.

I learn at an early age of the life of my Native families of the Seven Nations.

An interesting but heartbreaking story of our great forefathers, their pain and suffering. The American Indian is too often referred to as killers and heathen's. Why? It was the white man who were the killers and heathens of those days. This land was the home of our Indian ancestors first.

    A good piece, Sis

    love and
