silence
this solitude could never be painful
he bows his head
and clasps his hands
crying out to an unseen god
“why have you forsaken me?”
tears break through the silence
he begins to doubt that a god exists
silence
this solitude is unbearable
though surrounded by people
she lifts her crestfallen head
and raises her hands to the heavens
whispering to the fabled gods of lore
“do you really exist?”
her world is crashing down around her
she begins to think the old ones exist
silence
if only this solitude could exist
I stare blankly at the wall
and tightly grasp my knees with white knuckles
praying to my goddess
“please help me be strong”
the silence isn't broken
warmth spreads through my body
and I suddenly feel at peace
the meditation worked
silence
this solitude is a chemical reaction
they go through the day
and tell others that we come from apes
that there is no god of any kind
they search their books full of science
for answers.....
they ignore the proof of a god
though its right in front of their noses
when silence comes
will you be ready for the solitude?
