A tormented soul, torn by agony
A torturer, was ironically tortured
For he denied life's simple truths
Always hungered for the material
Greed was all he used for release
In the end, it cost him everything
So I shed all my tears, for the man
Who raised me in love and in fear
But I no longer live in fear's shadow
Goodbye stepfather, kind and cruel
You will be missed and lamented
But you chose your own grim path
A tragedy that didn't have to happen
But it was all in your own dark hand
That your fate always rested, I'm afraid
May you be granted rest, from all pain
That you felt on this earthly journey
May you find your way home, at last

Just thought i'd stop on by and read one of your poems. Fear is a shadow that one should not be afraid of, shadows cannot hurt you for it has no substance. Nice write

"Greed was all he used for release
In the end, it cost him everything"
So I shed all my tears, for the man
Who raised me in love and in fear"
these two lines stood out to me the most,
i thought that this whole poem was insightfull.
The lines were very well brought together, the areas that I
enjoyed the most were the first two stanzasa.
I felt the pain within the words very well. A gooe write.
