Meet Me By The Bay

When the city lights go down,
and the sun just starts to show
come and see me, baby

Because I'm all alone

Been on the road for far too long
just sipping bitter coffee
Without a friend to talk to

Or loving arms to hold me

I'm so tired of the nights
where I wake up all alone
Stuck between cold sheets

With just the faint scent of your cologne

So come meet me by the bay
in the city, where the sun shone bright

Meet me by the bay,
because I'm so tired of the the night.

Beautiful!I love love love this very much! ^_^. Nice message. The poem brought me both happiness and sadness. Mixed emotions. I love the flow of the words and the overall concept. Simple, short and snappy. Great Job!

Lyrical and eloquent in it's simplicity.
Final rhyme sequence makes a sweet ending.

A beautiful, but melancholy, poem...something which I have been more able to relate to than not. Unfortunately, I have suffered too many instances of abandonment and betrayal, and this poem resonates within the core of my soul!

I have to say that the subtle rhyme in this flowed well and gave the poem a smooth, sad rhythm. When read aloud each word just falls off the tongue. This piece was well deserving of the gold and I am surprised it didn't get any comments before now! I hope you gain more fans after your win.

    Many blessings,

    Raven Aurora
