Summer, Come Sit and Talk with Me ...

Missing image

Come here my lovely little one;
there’re things to learn and see.
Look at what the Lord bestows,
this gift to you and me.

A bouncing baby buddle
to teach the things you know.
To show her all the tricks you’ve learned
and how the flowers grow.

For with your help she’ll prosper
and be all that God has planned,
but first you have to extend to her
your strong and helping hand.

Then pass along your happy grin
with its infectious smile
and lead the way along the road
through tribulation’s trial.

Accept her in your heart
be clear and always frank
point out what life is all about
and God’s the one to thank.

Be the best example!
Love her, be a friend.
Reassure her you’re the one,
on whom she can depend.

Author notes

My latest grandchild (#10), Alyssa, was born October 17, 2009 at 1:29am. She has a five year old sister, Summer, who is of course jealous. I wrote this poem, today for mommy to read to Summer. Hopefully she will re-evaluate her role in the Alyssa's life,

Glad you enjoyed it. I had to frame a copy for my wife and daughter... at their request. Boy, all these babies (10th grandchild) much more complicated than keep turtles. Howard
