Fondling the trigger like a mother holds a baby,
He looks to it with great remorse.
Is this what my lifes coming to?
He thinks and loads the clip.
Taking the note in his hand again,
He reads it one more time.
It's not your fault, I can't take it.
He lays it on the bed.
With a few guarded tears he pulls the trigger,
He falls to the ground with a thump.
Is this what our lives are coming to?
We all stop and load the clip.
