The Trance

Hypnotized at birth
Awakened at death

to the formation of whirling dots
the mind has become entranced
the body formed of atoms I am not
I’m experiencing an illusionary dance

I am no more the physical body
than I am my fingernails or my hair
what a silly, crazy notion to believe,
it’s just a temporal cloak that I wear

Hypnotized at birth
Awakened at death

spirit, I’m a piece of divine spirit,
I am still as God created me;
the more I believe I’m a body
the more fearful I shall be

the secret to peace and happiness
is simply to forgive and not to judge;
for a more lucid and pleasant dream
have compassion with unconditional love

Hypnotized at birth
Awakened at death

when from this silly dream
for a time I take a rest

    Wise-Wonderful-Profound...

    This is a poem that leads to meditation and discussion of its matters. The main subject is very stimulating.

    Two or more persons analyzing the lexicon of Stanza Six, (I counted from the top including the lines: "Hypnotized at birth/ Awakened at death" as a stanza.) would certaily develop the theme to global understanding of "FORGIVE and UNCONTIONAL" .

    I have enjoyed the reading of a thought's developer poem... "The Trance" glows.

    In respect and admiration,

    Andre Emmanuel Bendavi ben-YEHU

      Thanks for reading 'The Trance'. Forgiveness (genuine - letting go of judgment) seems to somehow creep into most of my poems as I read and study 'A Course in Miracles', which I credit much to for my spiritual growth. - Bonita

    compassion

    transforms and awakens the dreamer

    we have many roots of human nature within us

    when we add compassion and love to roots they transform the roots and we are no longer governed by our emotions.

    we see....

    another example of the dreamer that has awakened from the dream

    as you indeed have

    God bless you my friend...
