It was our last real chance at summer
romance splashed through eyelids
and oceans of mist
we should have kissed
but my mind raced so fast
that the moment just past
through the fall
and the leaves floating gentle
in crisp Autumn air
the smell of your hair
was around me
surrounding me
like warm woolen mittens
and soft cuddly kittens
I now planted my lips with a kiss
as my fingers found fresh cool caresses
on flesh that was warm
with delight
and the universe was ours
on that night.

Very lovely imagery you've painted here with your words! I love the tender tone found in every line, and the smooth flow of imagery. I love your word usage here, the imagery created from it is fantastic!

Bravo and thank you for entering
