If One Should Crumble

Turn over those iron leaves
that have fallen from your rusting palm;

Take the muffled remnants
of a thousand forgotten voices,
let their truth shatter frozen soils.

Barriers of indifference
built upon ancient seas of neglect,
crumble more swiftly than a conscience
into the arms of humility;

Virtue becomes a stagnant captive
to the alluvial sands of time,
waiting for one final moment of acceptance;

Yet; when the colours of renewal
bleed across the stones of inequity,
archaic beliefs are left to sink
into the bonds of nothingness.

Author notes

The lost and lonely would not exist if even just one person cared about them.

    One final moment of acceptance! Funny how time and even ingorance still exist! We have come so far...yet not whenit is about race! Ignoreance still reigns today. Sad...Oh so very sad! ~Sie
