Empty Mansions

On an ocher Autumn day
An old man made his way
Down a lane of empty mansions
As they caught his wandering gaze

His thoughts became a boggle
So he stopped to briefly oggle
The dwellings wealth attained
yet nothing shall remain

All glories ebb and wane
to  live with those who care
And feel the love they share
The prize we seek so fair

As the grass withereth
And the flowers fadeth
Like the falling Autumn Sun
Only love stays the same

    Lovely Poem My Friend

Wesley, A beautiful poem that flows like a soft autumn breeze among the dancing leaves. You have penned such lovely imagery within your words. This was delightful to read this Fall morning. A lovely message too. You take care. Hugs and Smiles, Sandy

      Thank you Catz

I am proud to be one of your most admired poets, as you are one of mine! I changed the title from Bright spots along the way to "Empty Mansions", however, I kept your great comment. Thank you.
