So Quiet

Liquor indifference
provokes silent responses to cascade
below unmoving chins...

Loving words have no place to live
for they die before being spoken...

Everything goes silent
as eyes vacate what's standing
before them...

He bangs the door shut,
she remains waiting,
.

.
the world takes pity and starts to howl

the effect is intoxicating. -and when the feeling wears away to sober? we're left standing alone, by ourselves, naked and exposed. No one person to say to us in comforting words - "I love You." Beautiful piece of writing "

And how many times has this been played out by living, breathing and sometimes unyeilding beings.

I really enjoyed your poem, best of luck in the contest.
