Breathing tubes and deprovan
Dying thrice, and back again
Open heart, suture the hole
Traveling down this winding road.
Seeing sunrise break the day
Writing poems keeps me sane
Being teased for a crooked walk
Twisting braids and throwing rocks.
Hamstrings tighten clip the muscle
Cerebral Palsy and its struggle
A stroke of genius scars my brain
Dying thrice and back again.
Breathing tubes and deprovan
Heart, lungs, bypassed
Blood flows again.
Teach my hands new melodies
tense bent fingers finding beats
Skin lotuses bloom, victories in leaps.
Breathing tubes and deprovan
Dying thrice and back again
Ask me and I'd do it again
Just to find the beauty within.

Thank you!
I was born three months premature and died three times before I actually stayed stable. I ended up with Cerebral Palsy from recieving too much oxygen and ended up with what looks like a stroke on an MRI. But my doctors saved my life so that's what's important.
I was diagnosed with a heart murmur when I was eleven, and then it was heard again by a doctor when I was 18/19 and considering you're supposed to be able to grow out of heart murmurs and some point, but I hadn't so I went and had a sonogram and stuff done on my chest to find I had an Atrial Septal Defect, or also known as an ASD. And since it couldn't be repaired, I had to undergo open heart surgery. Not to mention I've had several surgeries on my left leg because of my CP which only affects my left side. I definitely got off lucky, that's for sure!
Thank you so much for your sweet comment! It means the world to me!
