For Andrew - A Farewell

I feel the fracture

of hearts breaking

the seconds sealed

in lonely absence

of youthful essence

now unseen

And family arms

that circle empty

as palms surrender

a loving son

I seek to give

but a touch of solace

hoping thoughts

can proffer healing

yet knowing nothing

can vanquish the void

and the ache

can only be answered

through comfort coming

in distant echoes

of what is yet to be

Until then

I pray peace find you

in quiet moments of

reminisce

and joyful reflection

on a precious soul

that years had yet

to claim

Till bright blue eyes

can gaze once more

the trees shall

still whisper

his name...

Oh wow. This is sad and somber, but it is.. kind of peaceful. I think this is perfect to give as is. It's your emotions at the time and thoughts. Nothing is more brillaint than that. Nicely done and keep it up.

Now that is so very sad! Yet so softly written. I found my heart full and tears prick my eyes. I am sure whoever you are giving this too will be so very grateful and touched.

I can't believe the talent on this site!

Read this. Thought I commented... Well done, sis. We've lost too many. A whole lot these past few years. And from these dates, too young too. Write on.

Well, it made me cry - ok so that is a given with something sad; HOWEVER I would not change anything... For me, this seems to be completely from the heart and so very beautiful. A lovely depiction of a pain so unbearable, and the presence one soul imprinted upon the world, and the family who cherishes them. Excellent piece m'dear!!!

I remember reading this and I must have been called away before I could comment; I'm sorry. I love the way you put deep sentiment as only your poetic voice can do it this well.

    Love,

I understand the words, was just curious as to the italics, is all.

May his soul rest in peace, I am so sorry to hear of this loss. Jackie all I can offer is a hug and a heart felt and sincere wish that he is now up in heaven looking down upon you and smiling as wide as can be.

I am so sorry for your loss
    Very heartfelt and touching dedication
the death of a child is so sad and tragic
Perhaps a mystery in life that I shall never comprehend
I believe that everything does happen for a resaon
but I can't understand a death of an infant or a child
So innocent and fragile in an often our cruel world

Indeed he was taken too soon
    "yet knowing nothing
    can vanquish the void"
    Profoundly true

    Thank you for sharing
    Much love my friend

    David

Thanks so much! Yes, it is hard to understand... I guess as the bible says "time and unforseen circumstance befall us all" .. yet the tragedy is still felt.

It is a beautiful dedication. Loss is so terrible, and so hard to pen adequately, but you've done an amazing job here. So sorry for the loss. There seems to be so much of that lately.

      Thanks hun

He was the baby of the family. His older brother is one of my best friends... it's such a tragic loss. And yes, it seems to be happening far too often.
