Who am I?

Missing image
by Gregg Rowe

Who am I?

A man
    The figment:
    of my father's penis;
    my mother's imagination.

A writer?
 counsellor?
 student?
 accountant?
 person?
 alcoholic?
 survivor?
 painter?

A friend!

So what do I write
 on the line
 of my provincial and federal
 income tax forms
 that says occupation?

I think you should write "poet extrordinaire" and leave it at that.

this poem made me all cheery and stuff for some reason... I dunno..... it's very upfront, I'll give you that.... don't you just love it when who you are is confined to the little "check all that apply" boxes? this was yet another good write lord-person, I really enjoy reading all of them.... and that's saying something considering I'm just an average girl with some infatuation with venturing into the unknown world of what me and my friends call "fluffy".... it's very much a fun thing to do... of course, I'm sure this bores you so I suppose I'll make this short. I really enjoyed this piece, simply because it's a new take on what almost everybody questions daily..... keep on writing please....

I am enjoying reading back through your stuff a bit here and there. I always know that your stuff is going to be on the edge for me, but I feel like it is a frank look at life that needs to be said. Cheryl said your stuff makes her shift in her seat and yeah that describes it. ok I have time for one more...
Thanks for taking me out of my comfort zone.

You always write pieces that make me shift in my seat. I am not sure that is the purpose of your writings, but please know that it does that. Of course, I want an answer to that last question...what do you write? I bet you should add "friend" to that list. It is a nice word, and you don't often use nice words about yourself. Go ahead, edit it! Cheryl
