Neither Heart Nor Back Break

I am glad you have not broke your back: I
Am happy and content that love does not
Relent, that in the face of double truth
We persists and that is proof we have got
Not just it but what it takes to have shot
The moon, never to come down too soon, sooth
Each other like no baboon enunicycled
Ever felt, no hip hop gang stirring hood
Would ever cover, nor registry could
Ever smother like you, no mere passing
Lover and companion for thirteen years

And more, who takes away my breath and tears,
May we see courageously ourselves
Through more than tiers that break on through to some
Other Mayan side, and our Sun rise for
Ever with a love that will not be denied.

Author notes

1: Where in English they say "break an arm and a leg", in German they say "hals und bein bruch", "break your neck and a leg", by which I guess they mean, if you have a hang up, make it good.
2: Registry Weddings were begun in 1742 by then King William III(sic) of England, in an attempt to keep track of who was associating with whom: a Wedding which had been Celebrated within the Church was then Consecrated by the State, to what end I here not state.
3: The Chinese ideograph of "Double Happiness" I have here adapted to the idea of Double Truth, as distinct from a having appropriated from The Book of the Dead.
4: The Doors, "Break On Through".
