Ida Blue

I sing the praise of Lady Frodofan,
A maid of many moods and many dreams.
I dream they'll scroll on open in swift streams
For she's a lady who has made a plan.
When I first scanned AllPoetry, this clan
Of varied bards, all writing lively reams
Of verse, a sparkle of eternal gleams
Shot forth: my bright adventure then began!

Intrigued, I gave the curious name a read:
Oh could it be there's someone like myself
Who's treasured so these volumes rich and long?
I've found a friend who's granted gifts indeed.
Expression rules, the Muse becomes herself,
When Ida Blue takes flight on wings of song.

I love to read tribute poems where an author salutes someone who has influenced her either in writing or in life. This was well written. Congratulations on your gold trophy. It was a pleasure to read. Peace, Liz

Most of my tribute poems have been to people on AP. All of you have been so much closer to me than my family, who can't be bothered to pick up and read any poem I write to them, so I write no poems to them anymore, except to the people who've been kind about my writing and my art and have treated me in a considerate manner.

Thank you so very dearly! I'm glad it brought you a smile! Peace! Hugs! , Purrs and catkins

It's been an honor and a delight meeting you and gaining your respect and friendship. Very few things in life have brought me so many smiles, as my friendship with Lady Frodofan, the Princess of the Curious Dragons, Poet Extraordinaire, Fine Photographer, and Artist.

Very nicely done and Frodofan is well deserving of such a tribute; she is one of the best poets on AP.

    Love,
    Amera♥

Thank you so very dearly! I must be very groggy today: I'm trying to answer all sorts of delightful comments wrong, and everything is going in the wrong direction! That proves I shouldn't read and organize at the same time: everything ends up a mess1

Thank you so very dearly! I'm honored that you feel I've done her some justice! Frodofan is truly a delight! She's a wonderful poet, an incredible photographer, and one of the most gloriously interesting individuals I've ever met!

A lovely tribute to a fine young poet. There are far too few young writers of rhyme and meter so those there are should be encouraged.

Good Petrachan, and not a cat in sight!

I tell you that the sonnet is ok partly because of Blaze Pandamonium's steadfast work as an editor, helpfully shredding every copy he deems not up to catnip snuff.

Thank you. She's as lovely a person as a poet!
