Megalomaniac

Because, sometimes I think your ears have grown dull,
After years of living in the limelight;
You can only ever hear yourself, now.

Because, sometimes I wonder if I'm really as pretty
As the countless girls you usher back to your dressing room;
The magazines beg to differ.

Because, sometimes I know this lifestyle will never work for me,
Being as fragile and dependant upon others as I am;
I used to believe you were my anchor.

There's only room for one megalomaniac in this relationship, doll face, and you've taken the crown.

Author notes

I really don't like the way this turned out, but meh'. My muse[s] have been struggling the past few weeks, so hopefully this will help.

Prompt was to write a poem in 100 words or 20 lines that began with the word "because."

Enjoy.

    I like this poem. The only thing I don't like aside from the bright background. The seemingly excessive usage of because - the effect I mean.

    Other than that, the poem is good.

    Thansk for sharing.

    This seems to represent that ever still situation that's been constantly on yor mind now for, like, what? A month? Hopefully things are better than what your poetic devices appear to be hinting. I know you have a habit of exaggerating for creativity's sake sometimes, so I'm sure there's nothing wrong. =3

    I have to say that this probably isn't your best, but I do adore the word "megalomniac". It sounds so cool to say, lmao. No idea what it means and the cat is making it hard enough to type, let alone look up words, so yer'. Double check your title spelling and there's a typo in your Author's Notes, darlin'.
