Tonight the night will near
The darkness will cover the land with
A thick goose feathered blanket
Made of shiny countless stars.
Tonight the eyes shall close
And the minds will rest.
The silent whistle of the crickets
And the lonely howl of the dog
Will be the only sounds
Enlightening the dark night
That has covered the roads.
That peaceful quiet night,
The only time creation rests,
Or does it?
I bet we would like to think so.
I bet we all dream of a time
When we can all stop thinking
And just let our minds float,
Outside that hallow shell
Called your head.
And where would it go?
I know where mine will….
Do you want to know?
Mine will wonder down the endless grey road,
Covered in dry red leaves with a tiny twinkling
Light somewhere aside the pavement.
Glittering silently in the shadow of the night.
May be that road will lead to peace,
To the light, to the nothing..
Or may be not…
It is a road I have walked endlessly
And I still walk over.
I love that road.
I love it because it leads to a place with no time.
A place only for me,
A place of peace.
A valley where the night and its crows
Break and wonder into the shimmer
Of the dusk and its orange glitter.
A place on a hill near a river
With waters turned black
And grass dried yellow.
A valley on a hill where lost souls
Rest eternally between the silent stones.
A place of the night
Where peace is found,
in the end of the lonely road
inside a village somewhere by the river
where the trees tell a story
of a long lost capital
of the land of the man
half bat and half wolf.
