Satan's Tongue

Missing image

I

bring forth a candle unto dreaming light

bring forth this child of sacrifice

the angels of our withered souls arrive

when midnight strikes the hour cold

II

drink the sludge of demon's bold

who slither through  the marigold

we prophets dark shall soon behold

the suicide of innocence

III

and death shall tread upon man's arrogance

and time shall eat away the evidence

the wrath of Hell shall avalanche

devouring all that stands before His might

IV

bring forth the lies of Satan's tongue tonight

and let us sup upon His appetite

we shall thrust the holy from our sight

for they are cursed to live forever.

Our spirit's rot He'll soon deliver

Satan's fork His hoof His cleaver

shall behead the none believer

flames shall feast upon the soul of man

Author notes

I'm not a big fan of Satan or his followers, but I thought I'd try to write a bit of a chant that doesn't sacrifice (hee!) my personal beliefs.

Interesting. I like this poem. It keeps a steady flow and kept me interested the whole way through. My favorite line is from stanza III, "death shall tread upon man's arrogance." This line is so powerful because of the truth that it holds. Thank you for sharing this piece. Great work.
