As her mind is blank
She walks in a daze
Weaving through trees
In the misty haze
Among the forest
Where evil looms
She views a shadow
Then fear consumes
The man wearing black
A hooded gown
“What could he be doing?”
She wondered with a frown
Filling with terror
Her heart began to race
Forever fearing
The sight of his face
Ever so slowly
Yet ever so fast
His silhouette getting closer
He’s wearing a mask
The ultimate question
The answer to seek
Do you push him away?
Or befriend the freak?
To be his friend
Or run and hide
To face the fear
Or to subside…

Interesting and thought-provoking here, you have left mystery intact and questioned unanswered. I liked how open it is to interpretation, and you've got some originality in these expressions.
I leads me to consider how fear of strangers has become the rule of thumb these days. Sometimes our monsters only live on in our minds, and they are actually perfectly normal otherwise...
Very cool.

thank you very much for the comment. i'm glad you enjoyed the read, and were able to see the point i was trying to get across about our fears being in our heads when sometimes there is really nothing to fear.

Snazzy. The idea could have been cliche but you approached it an interesting way and so it wasn't =D The second last stanza was great because I found the words of the poem had a soft tone until the word freak came, which is quiet harsh and jagged. A very enjoyable read. Good luck in the contest
