So like autumn
are you
mother of sweetness,
soft curls and
skin of brown
flaking off
like rust.
Like a tragedy
are you
averse hell-queen,
you your birth-tree
leaving;
falling to make
your final harvest.
Demure daughter
mourning mother
Earth itself
peels apart from
your grief
like rust.
