Get a bag and a sheet and my favorite doll, today I'm going to fly
I'll need a co-pilot and a parachute, in case I fall from the sky
If I run fast enough, and jump far enough, flap my arms and close my eyes
The wind should catch me, and take me right up, to soar with the birds so high
Think of a look and a good stage name, today I'm going to be a star
I'll go downtown and I'll get discovered, you'll see, I'm going to go far
If I sing really loud, and I find a good crowd, borrow my daddy's guitar
Soon I'll be famous, and I'll have lots of money, and drive a fancy new car
Get some food and a stick and a handkerchief, today I'm running away
I'll make a pack to carry over my shoulder, the old fashioned cartoon way
If I take a light, and walk through the night, nap in a big pile of hay
I should get pretty far, then I'll find a nice place, and a family who'll let me stay
Take all the toys and put them away, tonight I'm too tired to try
I'll leave tomorrow, I've got a plan, all I need is the right supplies
This time I know I'm going to go, so you'd better say goodbye
Tomorrow's the day, I'm going away
You're going to miss me when I learn to fly
