and i looked into the barren desert
searching for the sand
and you stepped into the sand
looking for a lush oasis
and in my eyes
you saw just you
and i looked in yours
and found your soul

I agree that this is very deep, and lovely. The person the narrator is speaking of reminds me of someone close to me, maybe close to everyone - that narcissist so pre-occupied with her own unhappiness that she finds herself blind when she tries to find beauty in anything but herself. And it's beautiful to see his/her soul at the end, even if s/he lacks the ability to do the same. Thank you for sharing this.

That's deep. Such metephores, gives a surreal feeling to the poem. Everything that must be felt is seen through the lense of your verse. Beautiful.
