As if in the paranormal ability of her spoken words there had been found the dark magic of an incantation, the huge ivory coffin the sorceress faced threw its heavy top open, revealing a sight not fit for human eyes. It was the work of the forbidden magic, necromancy- but then without the cover there did lay the slender and now-moving shape of a child, Logan Johnson. There was blood upon his white suit and in his blonde hair. The evidence of a lengthy fight showed upon the mangled pieces of his small body. For a moment the old woman remained trembling with shock and power, her faced stained with the tears of a thousand centuries– then, with a low, longing cry, fell heavily forward to meet the resurrected angel-child, and in her slow and now final grieving, she took him in her violent hold and fell victim to the death she had anticipated. She looked upon the perfectly preserved corpse of this small, six year old child and made her entrance to the eternal torture that awaited her, the price she paid for her evil deeds. And throughout the ordeal she knew the ultimate price and took it willingly, just to see again the angel that was taken from her.
Author notes
In case you've read EA Poe, this is a parodyish sort of thing from a section of The Fall of The House of Usher. And in case you were wondering the sorceress had lived for thousands of centuries, keeping herself alive with magic so she could accomplish this one task and was fully aware of the consequences.

I somewhat know of Poe and the Fall of The House of Usher. Although, I am not a huge fan of his, but do know of his work. I find this to be an interesting piece, very easy reading and flowed nicely, from one line to the next. Thank you, for your entry into this contest. Take care and have a great day.
