Sitting at my desk, should be working.
But I'm on Allpoetry, duties shirking.
Why do I have to sit at hum drum job
when I'd rather be writing, it makes me sob.
Hope you find this a little bit amusing.
I know my bosses time, I am abusing.
I'll make it up by working quite late,
or working on Saturday to fill my plate.
In the meantime I'll write this little rhyme,
Then get to work, quit wasting time.
Finish the budgets and get out the billing.
To accomplish my tasks I am quite willing.

Naughty you...
and sometimes naughty me too. I see lunch as an opportunity. Cute little write you have here. Just don't let the boss see it.

We have all been guilty of shirking but not all are accomplished enough to write a poem while doing so....ha!
Good luck in the comp.

I love this! It's so sneaky, yet spontaneously creative. It sounds like such fun! Even if the boss were to see, you could still say you were "writing about work". I know this feeling very well, especially when you work in billing. Blah. I think I'm going to come back and read this when I have had a particularly boring day at work. Thanks for this little bit of "shirking"!

AP is such an addiction I am worried it might even become a major affliction.
Hello Katie, I thought it was high time I came by and said hello.

This is cute and funny. Well written. I have been guilty of that myself. God bless.

I like this light-hearted look at the "conflict" between what you want to be doing and your working duties.
Nice one,
Bill
