A night enlightened with sinister streetlights, I walk with fallacy as my prejudice.
Why me?
I have searched the sky and the sea for someone to fit the empty space in my heart, but to no avail. Where has he gone? Did he hear me whisper your name in my sleep? Or see me wishing the stars for him?
Liar, you were with me all along.
The closest thing I have in this world. You were my loyal companion.
But where were you when I am laughing in joy?
Where were you when I counted my minutes to freedom?
Your cold touch and the breath of your presence suffocated me.
So many names you have there but what should I call you?
Solitude?
Loneliness?
Desolate?
Or would you rather I recognize you by the sorrow you brought upon me?
Such tranquil and apathetic thoughts you have; my faceless guardian.
And rest in this heart that I have set aside for you,
for you are the only one who could steal my smile.

i love the take you had on the photo prompt.
my favorite lines were:
Liar, you were with me all along.
The closest thing I have in this world. You were my loyal companion
they were very strong.
this is the type of piece that i have to read like three times to take in everything.
which isn't a bad thing.
it makes what you wrote sink in much deeper.
good luck.
