Dorian's Soul(bronze)

Ahh my dear Dorian,

You have sold your soul
and are now so much less of a man.
Yes your looks are prized,
but what lies deep beneath
that mere shell of emotion?

For a few moments
in time everlasting,
your ego craved
that handsome demeanour
of youth.

Now,
with your garnished preception of beauty,
you flaunt these temporal looks
in such meretricious fashion,
in gleeful and pompous ceremony.

Paying the price
for the death you inflict
and debauched acts
will be your undoing,
for your hopes will slither
into wrinkled redundancy.

Like a snake,
you will shed that skin.
What is left
will shatter me
and bleed your soul.

In Disgust,
Your Picture.

Points for using one of my favorites in that list of words, and for writing about literature! I really like the phrase "wrinkled redundancy"--it has a nice ring to it. The letter format works well for this poem, too. My only criticism is that sometimes the wording gets little redundant itself, such as using "your looks are fine" and then "these fine looks," a little later on, as well as saying "pretty boy look." Your use of the word "meretricious" is handled well, though, and the idea is solid and wise.
