Kiss Of Danger.

I, a girl
          laden by authority,
let the shadows of my soul s w e e p my breath away.

My world has bled from oozing battle wounds,
          Scars.
Banished, am I.

I lie in my cage and still find no comfort in the lightest of voices.
Interwoven.
Behind thick bars of rusted steel, I lay.
Pressed, but I cannot speak. I can only—
Wait for the howl of the wind to brush against my goose bump-ridden skin.

I am forced to watch as my firm, earthy ground becomes inhabited.
Captured,
beaten by those in which are to be stronger than I.
Still, my personal Berlin Wall remains intact.

Lying in the in between of imminent dancer and a dream worth
Fighting for,
                                      I choose imminent danger.

For I will always be a dreamer,
                And dream, I do.

Author notes

This is a poem I had to do for my poetry class.
I had to get inspiration from a piece at the art museum.
This piece that I used... Ohmygoodness. It was uber beautiful.
