Hello Imagination

Two tin cans
long string/cord
holes in bottom of cans
lace string/cord through
tie a knot
ta da!
An instant communication device!

Take it in the woods
or one upstairs
the other down
put it to your ear
as the other talks
within the tin can

Can you hear me yet??
Hello Hello
my sister would yell
holding the can tightly
to my ear
I do declare
I HEAR!

A fuzzy feeling within
as the words begin to spin
science takes a whirl in space
with a single word said
through a shoe lace

Hello hello again
so tired from this day of thinking
for ones mind is at work for this
such a wonderful find indeed
imagination once again freed!

Ah nostalgia! thanks for bringing back memories of my childhood...those were the days! we were so innocent and easily amused, kids these days need computer games and such, I really think they are the ones missing out! you've written a really good, well written poem, i especially love the final lines 'such a wonderful find indeed / imagination once again freed!'

Hahaha. I can remember doing that as a kid and thinking it was like the best thin in the world. funny how children are so easyily amused until we stick them in front of a tv and take away all their thinking power.
