~~Autumn Comes~~

Missing image
Autumn comes
Dawn breaks late as frost turns to dew
Colors muted by night become vivid
Mist rises from ponds glazed with ice
Winged birds first flock, then they take flight
Small creatures bury their tasty morsels
While caterpillars become dark and lazy
Meadows of flowers have gone to seed
And field once green have become golden
Leaves shimmering red, gold.amber and crimson
Dance wildly in the breeze
Brilliant sunsets pierce cloudless skies
Colors fade as twilight shadows fall
Autumn comes

    Beautiful

.... Filled with imagery and enough to keep the mind working through and through. The picture you chose for this one was stunning and made the piece better. Some people have a gift for wrapping up their presentation with a picture, other do not in fact they distract from it with their choice. You fall into the first catagory, and I am glad I stopped in. BTW we had 20" of snow where I was at, and the snow just stopped within the hour. That's ok they are predicting 60's by the end of the weekend so it will not stay around for long. Thanks for reading my work I am pleased with each comment you make!

Very lovely, well done with your free verse. There seemed to be a haiku feeling to it all which gave it nice flow. I enjoyed the read and felt mellowed by it.

    Good luck,
