The Father turns away
as His son's life fades
Not seeing the tears fall
One by one
after the other
His heart saturated in pain
as the blood drops like the rain
bleeding through those tattered turniquets
Clothed in agony
He feels the stripes
The wounds
The nails in the hands
His feet
that wretched crown digging into his skull
and the spear thrust into his side
Crying out in desparation
Yearning for salvation
To save his begotten
Something
Anything
Alas
He must not
He shall not
He sits alone on His throne
...and cries
as infinity crawls
For His son to release his grip on life
Anchored by sin
Weighed down by the world
Hanging by a single thread
Then,
Like a lightning strike
A mighty gasp
The final breath releases
His son lets go
He falls
Now
It is Finished
and through those tears
The Father smiles
