The fog thickens through the inerts of the woodland
cries absorbed into the fabric of time,
sewn into the patchwork of forgotten yesterdays.
You walk, clutching your chest, breathing steam
the grass wets as exfoliating dirt pummels your bare feet
as you feel tear drops stain your cheeks.
Calls of nature remain hushed,
the only sound is your heart beating louder than thunder
Turning around seems so sweet a path
but the fog ahead draws you ever closer
offering you nothing but uncertainty.
With a sigh and anxiety flooding your heart
you trudge forward, disapparing into the unknown
For you are bound in the quest for happiness
the bitter taste of the past may linger with knowledge
but the hope for a better tomorrow fuels your soul
So you go with a heavy heart into a cloud of hope, despair and tomorrows.
