What Tomorrow Brings

          Mosaics in shades
of tangerine and pennies
decorate the walls of my life
and I remember the obscene
            perfume of the sea.

I find myself engraved by my past,
  shards of stained glass
caught between my fingers,
coarse eroticism making me flinch,
            slicing flesh -
poisoned solidarity
melts my purity into liquid stars
                    but all the while,
I am tasting grapefruit in my throat and
I am drowning my tongue in nitrogen.

I know these words,
memories trapped in the margins
of this world,
                    each one
building a sepia toned photograph
  in my mind
and I wish for a broken angel
with wings that smell of camphor and
                                    lush earth
to surround me
in the darkness, saving the soul
                        that I used to be.

I miss this emotion.

          Love.

                          I remember.

I like this. Good job. I like your word choices. It flows nicely, and the imagery is really well done.
