Chocolate Perils..

CHOCOLATE PERILS..

The effect of chocolate can’t be over-stated
Too much of it can make you constipated
It happened once to me
on a chocolate eating spree
and the enemas I positively hated.

I wish Mum kept that kitchen cupboard locked,
where all her birthday chocolates are stocked.
With a five-layer box on top
I was powerless to stop
and next day my bowels were well and truly blocked

Mum finally phoned up the Fire-Station
to see if they could help my constipation.
Just  one quick high-pressure squirt
was enough and, though it hurt,
it immediately cleared the situation.

The moral I have learned from that occasion
is to exercise a lot more moderation
when confronted with a box
full of rich, soft-centred chocs,
you should make one layer alone your limit ration.

    Dear Heath,

    I guess it would've been COLD water too!! WOW!!!
    The box alone looks tempting! I can just imagine you wolfing your way through all those layers once you got the bow undone and opened the lid.
    A good poem but a shocking take of horror. Almost Yemmish.

    Sounds like quite an ordeal Heath that only you could effectilvely relay in rhyme. Quite a funny piece and hopefully a lesson learned.

    Dear Heath, Ha ha what a fun poem but did you know you turned me off eating chocolate
    with the talk about the fire brigade? I don't want to go through that!

    Oh very funny. Never had a problem myself with constipation after eating but then have never eaten a whole box. Not fond of the cream ones either make my hubby eat most of them I prefer the nut ones and toffees and just plain dark chunks of the stuff . ...
