Thoughts pushing their way to the front of my mind
Dragging memories with them; playing them over and over
Stringing them together to create my own chains
With each hurtful word you spoke you created the bars
I relived those moments and I placed each bar in it's rightful spot
Together we built this cell where only I am captive
I am the one shackled inside our created hell
Left alone I am a prisoner to your memory
I will wait forever for you to return
You hold the key that will set me free
You are the only light that can fill my emptiness
I wait for your love to release me
Cause I am nothing without you near
I am desperate for you to breathe life back into this soul of mine
I was born to love you and I’m dying for you to love me

You have some real creative imagery here.

I get the image of a dead love one or something simalar to the song

I love it!
The last line was revealing the unrequitedness of your love and you simply wishing they'd love you back. This also kinda brings back memories of my favourite line in a song "All your fortresses go down in the night, you will find me waiting for you." There is so much emotion in this poem that I class it as the best I've read so far. Hoping that you'll keep writing and again...I love it, love is worth dying for even if sometimes it can be unrequited and good luck in the contest.
