Once Upon A Summer Breeze

Summer come and summer gone,
Forgotten upon every dawn,
The blissful wish of a summer day
can never last, can never stay,
Now autumn leaves drop and fall,
A melancholy sight which seems to call
all life away amongst the trees,
Hidden by the chilly breeze,
Hues of colors float with each new bluster,
Til' winter's frost slays autumn's luster.
All trace of life is dead and gone,
From petals of roses to new-born fawn,
All have fled from winter's grasp,
And still I long for summer wind's rasp,
For every day that had gone by,
For every breath and every sigh,
A lost summer now, it does seem,
That it was once upon a dream.
