Now that I’ve finally found you my love, I ask myself
How could God have made someone so perfect for me?
No matter what you seem to do I can’t find a fault in you
I’ve searched and searched but there isn’t a single one to see
But in my survey of you, my southern boy
I’ve found some reasons as to why that might be
You’re as sweet as the Southern sweet tea you drink
As charming as the books make perfect gentlemen to be
You’re as bright and hot as a southern summer afternoon
As cool and calm as the fall breeze rustling the leaves
You’re as beautiful as the southern flowers blooming in mid spring
As stunning as the evening sun setting over the mountains and trees
I now understand that your flawlessness, can be blamed on one thing
It is because you’re as wonderfully southern as you can be
Please tell me what you think

I love this!
It couldn't possibly be because of this line:
"It is because you’re as wonderfully southern as you can be"; nawww...just because I'm a southern woman
Seriously,
I LOVE this piece; it's quite sweet!!!
Most excellent!
Keep the ink flowing! -

haha thanks! it's kind of funny that I wrote this considering I'm from New York so I'm like the complete opposite of southern but since I've moved to Virginia I've become a lot more southern...lol... but thanks!

This poem is really endearing and the last stanza, "I now understand that you’re flawlessness, can be blamed on one thing
It is because you’re as wonderfully southern as you can be" was a sugar-sweet close.
