Last Rendezvous

This is my last secret tryst, last clandestine rendezvous
The last time that I shall allow my love to soar
And for my heart to hum strains of rainbow shades
I am now to be pledged to another
Then you cannot even live in my heart as a memory
I will wash away alltraces of you with ablutions of the soul
But my heart yearn for a few stollen moments
Even if I should not save them in memory as dry roses in diaries
I want once more to see that smile that strummed at heart strings
A poetry of innocence and decadence
I want your gaze like a caress to touch me before you go
And for my face to be reflected in those enchanting eyes
For your breathe sweeter than the rose's sigh to me
To mingle in mine as you hold me in embrace
For your  lips to press chaste pecks on my forehead
And to trace the path of an escaped scalding teardrop
For you promised to kiss my lips when we were wedded
Afore the holy altar before the fire of the gods and deities for blessings
But that is not to be so you should embrace me
One last time before we separate never to meetin this life...

Author notes

Just the last tryst of a lady with her lover before she relinquishes him forever to wed another...

wow! what a read! But you know, I have learned, that no matter how much we say we wont remember, we wont love that one from "before" well sometimes, that love will always remain... and that love is a bit stronger than any other emotion... You really did a great job on this one! I love it!!
