We died in those days
With fragrance of flowers and sweat on our skin,
We cried in our beds like ghosts
And tried to escape in ways that never worked
We saved our sister in what we did
According to his silver words
And we prayed
And we prayed
And we prayed
We averted eyes and smiled like we were children,
Holding onto memories that weren’t really ours,
Holding onto dreams that never graced our lives
We grew up when we were born,
Catapulted into adulthood at our first breath
And everyone thereafter
We broke in ways that made us fear him,
That made us fear the world,
We felt ashamed, wrong, dirty,
while he rolled in it like a dog
We were the daughters
We were the haunted
We were the dying
And somehow I never knew you suffered
And you never knew that so did I

Pretty emotional and I'm assuming this is about the story you finally came out and told pertaining to your father.
I like this one a lot. I know I'll never be able to understand your pain or relate to it at that, but I'm always here and hopefully you can continue to get through it.
