Glance in the rear view

Glance in the rear view,
one final look back, at you.
Thanking god, for my friends,
for without them, we wouldn’t end.

Breaking free, a fresh new start.
Happier now that we’re apart.
The future’s great, I’m moving on,
soon you will be long gone.

The children safe, they never saw,
the things you’ve done to me before.
Asking questions, as their wont to do,
I won’t poison them, against you.

I’m scared, lonely and unsure what to do,
but, I know I've done right in leaving you.
One day, you will remember too,
that last glance I took in the rear view.

OHMYGOD I've missed you [grabs your legs so you can't leave]
    (It's PhantomsAngel87 by the way]

This is nothing short of powerful, gripping and flawlessly penned; it actually reminds me of that Savage Garden song ... Two Beds and a Coffee Machine - this and that poem both brought me to tears for good reasons and sad

I'm thrilled to see you writing again
    Best of Luck!
