Fourteen years abruptly end
thirteen people with a dead friend.
Twelve days of denying the story
not wanting to believe she ended so gory.
Eleven nights without any sleep
ten families that can't help but weep.
Nine was how old
he was when his sister went out cold.
Eight pictures of a sad girl
seven days until the funeral.
Six teachers with one less seat
five cousins who feel incomplete.
Four times she thought about dying
three times she ended up crying.
Two parents who's hearts won't mend
one girl who decided her life should end.

Real emotions... a dead friend... I lost a friend too to death but death personally came to take her she didn't go to him. people committing suicide don't ever think of the people who love them do they?
A very touching poem. and I liked the structure too, backward counting.... that is something new for me... works very well.

This poem is very good. It almost made me cry. I know how it feels when i friend thinks there time is up. im sorry you had to go through it. i hope writing about it helped with a pain even a little bit. Please don't stop writing.

I don't think I have ever seen a poem counting back before. It was very well put together and I bet you put a lot of time into it. The last line is probably the saddest. I suggest that you right the best part for the ending for your next poem like you did with this poem. Keep up the good work. -

that is very deppressing... i'm so sorry!!! but i didn't get where it said. "12 days of denying the story." i also have a question, how did the girl/boy kill themself????

first she overdosed and her mom found her and took her 2 the hospital. then she hung herself with the bedsheets in the bathroom. "12 days of denying the story" means 12 days of nto wanting to believe how she died.
