You wonder why I'm soft spoken
if only you really knew
if only you knew i was beaten for speaking
beaten for smiling
if only you knew i was told i didn't
deserve to have friends
to be happy
if only you knew the real reason i cry
the pain behind the tears
if only you knew the physical
and emotional
scars i carry around day after day
if only you knew i'm a struggling anorexic
and twice tried to take my own life
if only you knew the horrid past i survived
If you could only comprehend
then you would know why i'm soft spoken

    This is such a strong poem. I can definitely identify with the quiet exterior while bottling up/hiding emotions on the inside. You really captured that.

    This is beautiful and so sad. I can relate, having had the same problem in the past.. this describes it perfectly. Great flow and word choice too, I can really feel the emotion coming through

    this is areally good poem that i can really feel the building voiuce of someone small and that people pick on and one day she just gets fed upw ith it and shouts it out. or how shes writing it down and she just gets madder and madder
