the snow
buries my birthday
of yesterday
letting it suffocate
slowly
one last frozen bubble
pops, as i wake up to
green leaves choked
green grass pummeled and
sidewalks glistening with
building tops shining with
car roofs drooping with

I really like that parallel structure towards the end. It feels like the poems is somehow gusting or drifting, etc. towards the ending.
Also happy late birthday. I don't have facebook anymore so I missed it, but I hope you had a good one and that you're enjoying the midwest : )

i feel like fall is always a trick. you think it's happening and then randomly it's christmas.
