Why can't all the years
And horror's of high school.
Be like the last week
Of grade 12.
Where smiles are exchanged
In long corridors.
Where friendly faces are met.
Where we do not judge
By appearance or personality.
Where hugs can be given,
And grudges forgotten.
Where compliments
Can not only be taken, but made.
Where the friendships group mingle
To say their last good-byes,
Where people don't say bitch
And turn away.
Where parties are had,
But not forgotten.
Where the sun can rise
On a perfect day.
Where we act towards each other
As though we'll never see them again.
And say good-bye as if it were the last time.
Why can't we all just get along,
In the dreadful place called hell.
Although we might not learn that much,
At least we'll all have each other.
No more dark and cold glances
Will pass my way,
When simply walking to class.
No more evil, eerie feelings,
Will pass before me,
And make me feel unwanted.
Why can't we all just get along,
Holding each others hands.
The journey would be much safer,
Much more easier to understand.
We wouldn't want to choke,
Or fight,
Or burn each other into the ground.
We'd all cooperate,
Not judging decisions,
And brighten each others day.
The weirdest or the nerdiest,
Would be able to talk to a jock.
Or the skinniest or the finest,
Would be able to each lunch.
So here I propose to you,
I make it loud and clear!
Why can't we all just get along,
Every day and every year.
Act as if there's no tomorrow,
And if we'll never see each other again.
Take the time to say hello,
You might just save someone dear.
Author notes
for christs sake stop acting like 13 year olds until you get to the end of year 12 and finally grow up. let this be a warning to the younger generations!
