Summers sun gone, Autumn takes its hold
sunny warm days changing, becoming very cold,
dreary dismal weather, above now cloudy sky
birds around us leaving, to warmer climates fly.
Scattered showers daily seem to be a norm
preventing children playing, as it turn to mighty storm,
thunder cracks above us loudly through dark cloud
lightening blinds our vision, to Earth its bolt impaled.
Leaves on trees are falling, floating down to Earth
squally winds now blowing, yes Autumn has its birth,
though shortly lived its season, Winters nearing fast
rain turns into snow flakes, till spring such coldness last.
Times are always changing, never standing still
It’s part of life’s adventure, some would say its thrill,
Autumn brings a message, one that tells of change
a time for us with nature to adjust, to rearrange.
