I am a pariah,
untouchable, unseen,
sweeping streets,
keeping life sanitary
and pristine
I am the proletariat,
the "have-nots,"
the cogs of the machine,
without me,
picture-perfect society halts
I see everything you discard,
protect you from frightful uncleanliness,
I prepare your food,
clean your home,
watch your children,
do you realize how much power
you've given me?
Author notes
No, I'm not a Marxist.
